“Character — the willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life — is the source from which self-respect springs.”
Remi Thobard is one of the three lieutenants of the Jungle Watch who accompanied the group into the Valley of Chains. Remi was the one who took his job least seriously, preferring a life of leisure and merriment. He was a laidback man who considered himself “a man’s man.” He often dispensed practical, homespun wisdom, and enjoyed being an ear to those who needed to talk.
After the death of Eza Nyafor, Remi stepped into a position of true responsibility. The loss of his friend sobered him greatly, and Remi became a more responsible and trustworthy leader for the Jungle Watch. Remi currently leads the Jungle Watch in the cases that Zafar is busy, and is proving himself to be future captain material.
